The poeTree series was born at the meeting point of an exquisite hand-made paper craft and the desire to present the richness of Auroville trees to children as well as to adults.
The Mother gave each of these trees or flowers a name which expresses a psychic quality.
Children and grown-ups will enjoy coloring the pages of this book, the third in the series.
The rain tree (albizia saman) is a large tree shaped as a parasol. The leaves fold in rainy weather and in the evening, hence the name "rain tree". In Tamil it is called thoongu moonji maram "the tree with a sleeping face".
There are many rain trees in and around Auroville.
The Mother named it "Wisdom".
