The Little Raintree:

A colouring story for children which recounts how a little raintree became eventually so big that he became shelter to many creatures. (series PoeTree) The rain tree (albizia saman) is a large tree shaped as a parasol. The leaves fold in rainy weather and in the evening, hence the name "rain tree". In Tamil it is called thoongu moonji maram "the tree with a sleeping face".There are many rain trees in and around Auroville. The Mother named it "Wisdom".

Stories Told By The Mother:

Almost all of these stories have been culled from the Mother's Questions and Answers, the English translation of her Entretiens in French. The anecdotes were published in French in 1994 under the title La Mère Raconte, and are now brought out in English, in two volumes. The compiler's note states These stories are not just stories; they are revelations of living truths conveyed to us by the Mother. If they bring the reader closer to the Mother, their purpose will be well served.
