The Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community located in Pondicherry (now  Puducherry), was founded by Sri Aurobindo Ghose, an Indian nationalist, philosopher, and spiritual leader, along with his spiritual collaborator, Mirra Alfassa, known as The Mother. The Ashram was established on November 24, 1926.

Sri Aurobindo's Symbol has a deep occult meaning - The descending triangle represents Sat-Chit-Ananda. The ascending triangle represents the aspiring answer from matter under the form of life, light and love. The junction of both – the central square – is the perfect manifestation having at its centre, the Avatar of the Supreme – The Lotus.
